With rising temps, it’s very important to make sure your dog doesn’t get overheated. Here are some tips on how to keep your dog cool during the hot summer months.
Fresh water
It is important your dog has bowl of fresh water at all times. Add some ice cubes, or keep the bowl of water in fridge for 10 minutes before giving to your pooch.
Ventilation and no direct sunlight
If your dog stays home while you at work, make sure the room he or she stays in is well ventilated and in not in direct sunlight.
Cooling water bowl
Who doesn’t like a cold drink on a hot day? A cooling water bowl keeps your dog’s water nice and frosty cold with a cooling pack – you simply freeze it and then insert under the bowl of water. It keeps water cool for quite a few hours.
Cooling mat
These come in different sizes so you can choose by your dog’s size. It can be used indoors and outdoors, floor, sofa, pet cage, lawn, etc. Durable, easy to clean, foldable and mobile. Very good investment and doggos love it.
Cooling vest
Submerge it into water for about a minute, wring out excess water and put it on your pup. You also can put the wet cooling vest into fridge for 10 minutes. Comes in different sizes. A great way to prevent your dog from overheating.
Cooling bandanna/collar/scarf
Just like the cooling vest, it requires submerging into cool water before putting it on your dog. It is smaller, doesn’t cover much your pooch’s body, but it still does a pretty decent job cooling.
Foldable pet swimming pool
Just like kids, most dogs love playing in swimming pools during hot weather. Often they just lay in the water to cool themselves off. Very durable, they can be reused for few years. A great investment and fun to watch your fur babies having fun.
Pet fan (crate, portable)
A great thing to have in case to have to take your dog in a crate for a while during hot day. It also can be used at home. Doggos usually love it.
